Core Values
“In a world that belongs equally to every human being, every individual deserves the right to live with dignity, grow in a healthy environment, and dream of a better tomorrow.
Sansthan, we believe that true and lasting change begins when civil society steps forward when compassionate individuals like you choose to act. We invite you to become a part of our family. By volunteering with us, you share in our mission to protect, uplift, and empower underprivileged children giving them the care, education, and opportunities they deserve. Whether you’re a student, professional, artist, or homemaker - your time, talent, and heart can help transform lives.

Teaching
"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." – Nelson Mandela At Surman, we place education at the core of our work. We believe every child has the right to learn and grow into a confident, self-reliant individual. We welcome volunteers who are passionate about teaching and want to work directly with children from marginalized backgrounds. You don’t need to be a professional educator, just someone who wants to make learning joyful and meaningful. From basic literacy and numeracy to science, social studies, and languages, your guidance can change a child’s life forever.
Hygiene Education
In countries like India, poor sanitation leads to a high incidence of disease, especially among children. Yet, childhood is also the best time to build strong habits for life. Teaching children about personal hygiene, cleanliness, and sanitation is one of the most impactful ways to protect their health and well-being. As a volunteer, you’ll help children understand hygiene in fun, practical ways from handwashing routines and oral care to menstrual hygiene and keeping their living spaces clean.

Skill Development
Beyond academics, we encourage children to dream, explore, and express
themselves. Our
Skill Development Program is designed to instill confidence, creativity, and
critical life skills.
